The coupon printing program used by most major sites, including Coupons.com, SmartSource.com and RedPlum.com, doesn't contain spyware, which can capture your keystrokes to find out your passwords. But the program does limit how many coupons you can print (it's usually two) to avoid fraud.

Mail-order pharmacies should be used only for medications you take regularly, not for drugs you need to treat a sudden illnes.

Safety Tip: If you buy from a web site, make sure it displays the Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites seal. Unverified sites might sell you counterfeit drugs that could endanger your health.

Not always. Read the privacy policy when you sign up. Be wary of sites that say they'll share your data with "affiliates" or "partners." Most sites allow you to opt out - uncheck the box at sign-up. If you can't, you may receive e-mail from unfamiliar companies.

Maybe not on their own, but if you buy the item on sale from a store that doubles coupons, you could turn a 25-cent coupon into a dollar or more of savings. Add a store coupon to that, and your savings could easily result in free food or cleaner products. And there are fewer wimpy coupons than you might think: The average coupon value for the first six months of this year was $1.37.

Also check the website of the company that makes your medication (to find the manufacturer, look on your prescription label next to the drug name and the dosage.) If you're willing to switch pharmacies, some stores offer cash rewards or gift cards to new customers.

Safety Tip: If you do change pharmacies, be sure to give the new pharmacist a complete list of all the prescription medications, vitamins and over-the-counter drugs you're taking, so he or she can check for interactions and other potential problems.

I would like to add that turning over the holiday cookie decorating chores to the kids is another great way to keep them entertained. It's a fun way for them to be creative, and they will take great pride in sharing (and eating) their artwork. It's an activity that they will look forward to for years!

Money Saving Idea - Household

Install dimmer switches and use efficient halogen bulbs, rather than incandescents. Dimmable compact fluorescents (CFLs) are even thriftier, but some flicker at low power.

Cost: $25 for dimmer and $10 for two CFLs; at Lowe's.

Savings: $20 per fixture on electricity over three years.

Bonus: Halogens and CFLs outlast incandescents, saving more money on replacement lights and avoiding the hassle of replacing bulbs.
